My name is Maj Kristina Kristensen. I'm eighteen, and a graphic designer.

I'm currently a senior at Communications High School, a small vocational school. It was at CHS that I found my passion for graphic design, during my sophomore year Visual Commuincations class. Since then I have designed numerous projects for several clients. These projects vary from business cards to flyers, tickets to candy wrappers.

At CHS, all seniors must participate in a mentorship, where the student experiences real-life work in a career they are interested in. I will be mentoring with a graphic designer in my neighborhood, and I'm extremely excited to learn more about graphic design as a profession from her.

At the moment, I'm enjoying my last year of high school. I've applied to six different colleges, and am waiting to hear back from them. It's been an exciting journey to fill out applications and write essays, but a busy one as well. Now that I'm finished, I'm happy to be back to working on art and design.

I'm hoping to be accepted to Montclair State University, a public school in New Jersey with excellent programs in art, psychology, and business -- the programs which I intend to study. I'd like to major in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing, and possibly double-major in psyhcology or graphic design.

But no matter what I choose, I know that art will always play an important part in my life.
